The Model PA2500 Spectrum Analyzer is a self contained peripheral device for PC's that allows users to collect RF spectral information. This unit is housed in a sturdy case, small and light enough to easily fit into a brief case, even with optional internal battery. The unit can be powered from conventional 115VAC (thru wall adapter) or directly from 12 VDC, such as automotive systems use. The basic unit covers 100Khz to 1.2Ghz, with optional coverage to 2.5Ghz (PA2500 only). Both versions are completely synthesized. Connection and operation are straight forward. Simply plug wall adapter in, connect parallel cable and run software. The software(DOS and Windows 95/98 versions included) provides all the standard features of computer controlled spectrum analyzers such as Markers, Spectrum Memories, Max Hold, Zero Span etc. For users who wish to collect data in a custom manner we provide a Software Developers Kit(SDK). It contains a Windows Dynamic Link Library (DLL) that can be controlled in many different programming environments along with the documentation and examples to start you off fast. The PA2500 is synthesized at every measurement point. This means extreme accuracy in terms of frequency data compared with open loop analog approaches. In addition a complete calibration table is built for each instrument to assure the amplitude accuracy as specified. An addition a wide an narrow band audio FM demodulators standard on the PA2500. If you are looking for a truly portable spectrum analyzer at a competitive price the PA2500 could be the instrument for you. PA2500 Block Diagram |
